Our Position on Overseas Surgery
If you are thinking about surgery abroad

At Next Phase Support UK, we recognise that having surgery abroad, whether for weight loss, cosmetic, or even dental procedures, is a personal decision. It can be more affordable, more accessible, and sometimes offer shorter waiting times. We understand why people consider it.

But we also know the risks.

The Realities Behind the Glamour

Navigating overseas surgery can be daunting, especially when you’re dealing with a language barrier, unfamiliar systems, and the overwhelming amount of information online. It’s often hard to verify a surgeon’s qualifications or check if a clinic is regulated to the same standards as in the UK.

Social media, while useful, can also be misleading. Eye-catching before-and-after photos often dominate the conversation, but they rarely show the full picture. The in-between the complications, the emotional toll, and the recovery setbacks is often overlooked. Add to that the hidden presence of unregulated “representatives” or coordinators on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and it becomes even harder to know who to trust.

Overseas Surgery Is Not Going Away

We understand that medical tourism is here to stay. It’s a multi-billion-pound global industry, and for many, it can be a life-changing option. But it must be approached with care, research, and full awareness of the risks.

How We Can Help

Over time, we’ve compiled a list of bariatric & plastic surgeons, and also dental professionals overseas

We have:

  • Cross-checked their qualifications and credentials as best we could
  • Reviewed patient experiences with a focus on safety, outcomes, and transparency
  • Checked any international accreditations and licenses

We are happy to share this information upon request, with a clear disclaimer:
We accept no liability and urge you to carry out your own independent research before making any decisions. We cannot guarantee your outcome, and we strongly advise you to consult your GP before undergoing any procedure.

We echo this clearly: Please, always do your own research. Your safety must come first.
